Honey, Chatillon’s excellence
A gourmet experience in Chatillon in Valle d’Aosta?
Of course! Chatillon is considered as one of the great capitals for honey. This is attributable to the region and the enterprising spirit of the specialist beekeepers who are able to create a product that is renowned around the world for its excellent quality.
The Museum of Honey in Chatillon in Valle d’Aosta honours and pays tribute to this art. Situated within the former Hotel Londres, it is a genuine treasure trove for lovers of beekeeping. The exhibition was inaugurated during the FAI [the Italian equivalent of the National Trust] craft days.
It represents a precious cultural journey between the past and the present where the tools of past times and the current product’s manufacturing techniques, which have led to Chatillon becoming one of Italy’s Città del Miele (honey capitals), can be admired.
